Stan Laurel, Please Stand Up - The Stan Laurel Story
This funny, touching and new play offers the opportunity to discover the man who was formerly Stan Jefferson and how, and why, he became Stan Laurel - comedy genius. With assistance from Lois Laurel-Hawes, Stan Laurel's real life daughter, the play will get closer than ever before to discovering the real man who made the world laugh and his relationship with the world when the cameras stopped turning. A wonderful and affectionate portrait of a man who left England on the same boat as Charlie Chaplin bound for America to make his fortune.
Bob Kingdom's legendary and critically acclaimed performances as Dylan Thomas (Dylan Thomas; Return Journey) and Truman Capote (The Truman Capote Talk Show) have delighted audiences around the world including seasons in London and New York. Now he turns his hand to playing the greatest comedy legend of all time; Stan Laurel...with possibly an appearance from Ollie too!
